2. Setting Your Display Preferences

To access the news ticker display preferences right-click on the ticker bar and click on the "My Display Preferences" menu option.

You will be greeted with the following screen:

At the top of the screen you will see a "Preview" tickerbar so that you can test the speed and display settings before applying them to the application.

Speed Preferences

  • The sliding scale is used to adjust the news ticker scroll speed. Moving to the left slows down the scrolling speed and moving to the right speeds it up.

  • Turbo Speed - Adjusts the amount of pixels that the scrolling jumps by. The higher you increase this speed the text can appear 'jumpier' on some systems.

Display Preferences

  • Pause - You can choose to either pause scrolling when you move the mouse over a news item or let the tickerbar carry on scrolling.

  • Short Name - You can choose whether to display the abbreviation of the news channel that the current news item belongs to. This is useful feature to identify which news feed is currently active. In the in the screenshot example above  The news item is identifed as [RssBlog]

  • Newsitem Separator - Sets the separator that you would like to use to help you identify separate news items in the current news feed.

  • Scroll Direction - Set the scroll direction that you would like the news ticker to scroll in.

  • Display Font and Size - This option enables you to change the news ticker font and size settings to your preference

  • Default Text Color - Sets the tickerbar's default text color.

  • Default Background Color - Sets the tickerbar's default background color

The NewsMaster Edition contains the following additional options:

  • Display arrows - This option allows you to enable or disable the control panel arrows.

  • Align arrows - This option allows you to set the alignment of the arrows to either the far left of the tickerbar next to the application icon or to the far right of the tickerbar.
