About the RSS Advantage NewsTicker

The Software

The RSS Advantage news ticker came about as an alternative method to receive high priority RSS news on your desktop. It was designed to solve the email Inbox overflow. It is our philosphy that email should be restored to its primary purpose: A two-way communications method and not a mechanism to broadcast general news.

But Why An RSS News Ticker?

Standard RSS news readers are great when you want to receive general news to views at a later time. For example web-based RSS readers require you to open your web browser and navigate to an Internet site, login and then view your news. Standard desktop RSS readers usually follow an "email-like" format where your news is displayed in a three pane interface of Category : News Item : Contents / Summary.

That's why the RSS Advantage Newsticker was developed. To display your high-priority news to you "TV news style". Something that can display headlines on your screen and requires the minimum amount of effort for you to view when you see something that interests you or is importance to you.

At the time of development the current selection of RSS news ticker software out there limited you to either a specific news channel or a pre-defined selection of them. You did not have the freedom to choose the news that you wanted to use. Hence the birth of the RSS Advantage. 

The Developer

The RSS Advantage NewsTicker was conceptualized, designed and developed by Chris Demetrios. Chris has more than fifteen years of professional experience in all phases of software solutions design, integration and development methodologies.

He has provided consulting and undertaken contracts for both muli-national and domestic institutions in the areas of Customer Relationship Management, Customer Loyalty Programs, Online Banking and Vehicle Finance throughout his career.
